    Local Area

Welcome to Robin Hood Country! From the delightful locations of our holiday lodges in Nottinghamshire, you can follow the legendary outlaw’s adventures in his legendary lair amidst the glades and ancient oaks of Sherwood Forest. Now a large country lodge, famed for the variety of its wildlife almost as much as for our hooded hero, the Forest is the setting for many family friendly activities and attractions.

Steeped in lore and legend, and inspiration for the novels of D H Lawrence, the landscape surrounding our holiday lodges in Nottinghamshire is the peaceful backdrop to delightful market towns like Newark and Southwell, as well as great houses and gardens, such as Newstead Abbey, family home of the poet Byron.

Our lodge holidays in Nottinghamshire would be incomplete without a visit to Nottingham itself. Here you can enjoy excellent shopping and entertainment in a lively, modern city whose fascinating historic attractions are very popular with visitors. An extraordinary man-made cave system lying under the city streets can be explored at the Caves of Nottingham, and you won’t want to miss the interactive, award winning Galleries of Justice or Tales of Robin Hood, a firm family favourite.

I would definitely recommend this holiday and will return myself with my family again in the future. We were advised that there were workman in the close proximity to us, however there was absolutely no need to worry as they were screened off with no disturbance and if we should see them in passing they were friendly. The accommodation was very relaxing, but with lots to do in both wet and dry days for the whole family, quieter days or busy days which every your preference. A really great holiday and the staff were wonderful.

The lodge was in a secluded area yet close to the main road. Ideally placed to look around Sherwood and Nottinghamshire. The lodge was lovely with everything we needed, the hot tub was an added bonus. It was great to take your dog and we thoroughly enjoyed our time away, definitely recommended.
